Bus Stop is a 1955 slice of life play by William Inge. Set in a diner, travelers on the greyhound bus line pass through and take shelter there on a snowy night. It turns out to be just as stormy inside the diner as outside as the characters reflect on loneliness, longing, and confronting their own internal storms. As the snow clears and they leave, they have learned some lessons, but the relationships are just like snowy weather - just passing through.
Taking the 1955 fashion into account, Abigail designed the show to realistically reflect the fashion of the day. Featuring Western Cowboy elements for Bo & Virgil. the daily diner staff and patrons in subdued neutrals and pastels, so lounge singer, Cherie pops in jewel-tones and sequins against water stained walls and checkerboard floor.
